Fire resistant
To ensure our poles support the various conditions faced by our Australian electricity networks, we engaged the CSIRO and Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre for the protection of people and assets to undertake simulated bushfire tests of our SURELINE® steel poles at their Mogo, NSW testing facility.
Our poles were subjected to two key bushfire tests:
- Radiant heat exposure - simulation of exposure to a bushfire burning adjacent and radiating intense heat
- Bushfire passage - simulation of poles being fully immersed in flames as the fire front passes
In both instances our steel poles and their hot dip galvanized coating were not compromised. This means you can be confident that SURELINE® steel poles are suited to fire-prone areas and can potentially save you from the costs associated with pole replacement, while helping to support continuity of power supply.
